Dr Khoo completed his undergraduate degree in the engineering program at the National University of Singapore on a scholarship/grant offered by the Singapore government and was concurrently on multiple scholarships in graduate school where he completed his M.S. (software engineering) at Andrews University, MI, and M.S. and Ph.D. (Information Systems) at the University of Maryland. He is a member of two honor societies and was awarded the Phi Kappa Phi Dissertation Research Grant. He has published annually in the major information systems publications. His areas of interests are Information Systems Development (including Web-based Systems), Electronic Commerce, Security, Management Issues in Information Technology, Human Computer Interaction and Pedagogy. He is interested in both basic and applied research to further the effectiveness, usability, and ultimately the utility of information systems; and the pedagogical issues related to these areas.
